All of the art sold by SBC is hand made by locals from the communities in the watershed of the “Rio de la Leche”. It is an area with high unemployment, extreme poverty and is where SBC conducts its research and conservation programs.
SBC believes that the artisan program increases support for conservation and is key to successfully protecting the spectacled bear.
